“My friends didn’t wear uniforms at East High School and they didn’t go to Blessed Sacrament so they didn’t have uniforms like me. I liked to wear my Blessed Sacrament uniform to East all day. My friends liked my uniform.”

- Alli Real

ALLI REAL | BLESSED SACRAMENT GRAD

Being a creature of habit, Alli wanted to continue wearing her Blessed Sacrament uniform to East High School. She proudly walked the halls in her polo, plaid skirt, and leggings for three years. When the pandemic hit, Alli still wore her uniform each day for online classes. She didn’t transition away from her uniform until her senior year. While I know her uniform was a comfort for her, I believe that it also served as a wonderful and powerful statement of her faith. A faith that was strengthened thanks to her ability to be surrounded by her peers in a Catholic environment.

Alli is a perfect example of the impact the Holy Family Special Needs Foundation has on our students, schools, and diocese. After graduating from high school, Alli continues to be a shining example of stewardship. She is a regular volunteer for the Ministry with Persons with Disabilities and serves on the MPD’s advisory council. The vision of a stewardship diocese is that all practicing Catholics would have an opportunity to attend Catholic schools. The Holy Family Special Needs Foundation helps us achieve our goal of ALL means ALL. Our students learn to be better Catholics, better citizens, and better people by being blessed enough to interact with students of all abilities. Every family should be begging their schools to open their doors wide and support that cause.
